I am delighted to invite you to the department of Mechatronics Engineering at Government Polytechnic, Karad. Considering the need of multidisciplinary approach, a new branch called Mechatronics Engineering has been started in the academic year 2022. Mechatronics Engineering is a unique branch of study that exists in very few Boards and universities in India. With a vision to provide multidisciplinary skills which we realised is going to be game changer in this century. With the advent of IoT, robotics, automation and smart devices etc. Now, Mechatronics does not need any introduction. We currently witness a paradigm shift from traditional Engineering mind-set to more evolved multidisciplinary curiosity amongst students, parents and even industries. Our state-of-the–art lab facilities, multi-domain faculties and experimental teaching-learning process with advanced curriculum ensure to groom our students for better as Mechatronics Engineers.
The department is currently operating with three years undergraduate Diploma program. The total sanctioned strength of the department is 30. The curriculum undergraduate program has been designed in such a way that students should be able to operate maintain and automate a system. The syllabus of the department has been designed to provide knowledge in the areas of Mechanical design, Electrical design, Signal processing and Control, and Programming. The primary focus of our curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem solving skills and innovation of new technologies. The Department has well established independent laboratories like SCADA based Instrumentation & Control systems, CNC & Robotics, CAD/CAM Lab with licensed software, Machine tools Lab. Our department is determined to contribute in solving the challenges thrown by the industry as well as the society. If you have any query, please do not hesitate to contact us. I am sure that our students of Department of Mechatronics will be an asset to a company if hired! Thank you!
